“Did You See Me Take My Insulin?” How Medisafe Can Help You Manage Diabetes

They say necessity is the mother of invention. In this case, perhaps the story starts with a father. Medisafe first started when two brothers decided to create a solution for their diabetic father to help him manage his medications and health. Three years later, Medisafe has gone on to become the leading medication management platform, helping more than 2.2 million people get  closer to their doctors, closer to their family, and closer to their health.  Don’t have Medisafe yet? According to the 2014 National Diabetes Statistics Report, 29.1 million people, 9.3% of the U.S. population have diabetes. We at Medisafe are dedicated to help you manage your condition.
The pill organizer
With our pill organizer you can set reminder times for your Metformin, insulin or any other medication you take. Your doses will appear in a beautifully designed virtual pillbox, so thoughts like “Did I take this pill already?” will disappear.

Track your glucose levels

Track your glucose levels with Medisafe’s Measurements. Android users can insert their information into Medisafe, and iPhone users can select to sync their info from the Health app. You can then see in a visual graph your measurements and compare them to your medication intake below, to better track your health.

Share progress with your doctor
Doctors should provide you with the best treatment possible. To do that, they need to know if the treatment they assigned to you is effective. With Medisafe, you can instantly send a status report to your doctors email. The report includes your required dosages, along with your measurements (like glucose levels) and medicine intake. You can even add personal notes to each pill you take describing how you felt that day or anything else you think the doctor should know.
If you have diabetes, Medisafe can help. Thousands of our users with diabetes manage their condition through the app every day (Daniel is one of them, read his story here)
Helping yourself by helping others

Get active! The Big Blue Test is a program of the Diabetes Hands Foundation that encourages people with diabetes, and without diabetes, to come together as a community to experience how small changes can have a big impact on their health. After all, Medisafe’s story began with our founder’s father, who accidently took a double dose of insulin. In addition to using Medisafe to remember to take your medications, you can also help others by getting active.
Joining a campaign to help people with diabetes in need is a wonderful way to keep yourself healthy – and it’s easy. Every log = $1 in support of people with diabetes in need around the world. All you have to do is the following until November 30th, 2015:

The Big Blue Test

  1. If you have diabetes you test their blood sugar (no diabetes? no testing!)
  2. You exercise for at least 14-20 minutes.
  3. You test again (if you have diabetes), and
  4. You share their experience on BigBlueTest.org

You can do the #BigBlueTest every day! And remember, you can record your glucose readings in Medisafe as well.
Most participants in the Big Blue Test experience an average blood sugar drop of 20%. Medisafe’s goal is to help you live your life, and to stay healthy – the Big Blue Test is one way to do exactly that, and to have fun at the same time.
